Mood: Pleasantly chilled!
3rd December 2005
Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen
Wind Direction: ESE
Wind Stength: 10 to 25mph
Surf / Sea State: Flat
Air Temperature: OK
Sea Temperature: OK
Weather: Dull
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Got down to the water, and the wind was gusting up to 25 mph, so rigged the 5.8m, and put it on the Synchro. However, the wind had by this time dropped to 15-18 mph with the odd small gust boosting htis a little, so I went out anyway. Got planing a few times, but decided after about 20 minutes to rig a bigger sail. Went for the Target 6.3, and was powered up most of the time. The wind was very gusty, and at times I was massively powered up, and yet other times I was wallowing. The 6.3 was a reasonable compromise, and I had a pretty good session on the whole, making the most of the gusts that came through. After a couple of hours, the wind started to die completely, which was a pity because the tide had only just turned and there was enough water for at least another couple of hours. Never mind - just have to look forward to the next session whenever that may be.
